We made it through another year. How you view this year matters not. It’s over and done with. Focus on your NOW so that your future now is amazing, awesome, and abundant!

This year, I was able to read 32 books! Most were audio books, as I’m always on the go, but they all contributed to my growth this year in one way or another. I already have nine books on deck for 2019! Let me put this disclaimer out there. It’s not just enough to read the books. You must find what resonates with you and APPLY it to your life on a DAILY basis! This isn’t and one-and-done process, people! It takes time to incorporate all of this goodness. I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that I, too, am still applying some of these principles. Know what you want, find support in your literature, and apply it rigorously and diligently until it becomes second nature. Do that and I assure you every future NOW moment in 2019 will be amazing!

Weekend Write-Up: How Do You Feel?

Hey, Rockstars!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve blogged a writing assignment, but after the week we’ve just conquered I think this one will be fitting. Besides, I’m striving to bring out the writer in some of you. I have to put you to work at some point. This weekend, I want you to answer this question:

How do you feel after the eviction process?

What is going through your mind? Do you feel lost? Lonely? Confused? Or do you feel free? In control? Energized? How did this week change the course of your life both personally and professionally? Explore the aftermath then get it down on paper…computer…iPad…something!

The reason why I want you to record your feelings is because this will not be the only time you’ll have to go through this process. There will be others that will somehow maneuver themselves in your head, intentionally or unintentionally, and you will need to kindly evict them as well. I want you to take note of how you felt before (which we covered on Tuesday), during, and after the eviction process. What was it like going through this week? Was it difficult or easy? Do you think it made you stronger or weaker?

I want you to be honest with YOURSELF. Remember, you are the only one that has to deal with the consequences of your actions. If you know that a certain person, place, or experience needs to go but you can’t find it in you to get rid of them then that’s a key indicator that you need to strengthen yourself mentally and spiritually. Maybe you got rid of them and in the process realized that some people you’ve evicted from the past weren’t as bad as you made them out to be. Maybe you realized that EVERYONE and EVERYTHING currently in your life had to go and you need to progress in a new direction. (I don’t do new starts, that means having to relearn EVERYTHING all over again!)

Whatever the case may be, journal it. There is a lesson in you going through this. You came across this blog for a reason. Be it the week it actually happened or months from now, something inside of you is saying “Okay, enough of this! Something has to give!”, and now is the time to give it up.

No one has to know these feelings but you. It’s a great way to track your progress, explore how this week has helped you, and allows you to see the progress you’ve made. By the same token it forces you to see your own faults that at some point you will have to deal with. Be it one word, one page, or one book, write down what’s going on within you. Then you can see what has been going on outside of you. Your world starts within. Get that in order and the rest will follow with ease.

Weekend Write-Up: Getting It All Down On Paper

Here is your assignment for this weekend. I’m going to be brief because I want your full attention to be on your goal!

Simply put, I want you to take that plan that has been manifesting inside of you for the past week, month, or year and put it down on paper! It’s time to take that dream of yours and turn it into a goal. Once it becomes a goal, then you can take steps to bring it to fruition.

When you set your dreams on paper, you breathe life into them. You make the intangible become tangible. You give the idea permission to come to life. You set before you what has been inside of you. In a sense, you’re preparing to give life to what you need, want, and/or desire.

It’s a scary thing, I know. There are a lot of questions surrounding your dreams. What if it doesn’t come true? What if I mess up? What if I miss a critical opportunity? Don’t let these questions stop you from getting started.

Write your dream out TODAY! Then write out your plans to get there. Leave room for change, growth, and the unexpected because all three of these elements WILL come into play at some point. That doesn’t mean you will never get there. It just means when you do arrive you’ll be wiser, stronger, and better than before!

Go! Pull up a word document. Better yet, grab a pen and paper. There’s something about physically writing it out that puts your spirit into it! Actually, I want you to do both! Have a hard copy and a digital copy. The more places you have it written, the more opportunities you have to focus on what you are working toward.

What’s your dream? What’s your plan? Mark down today’s date. It’s the day you decided to bring your dream to life!

Weekend Write-Up: Assignment 4


You should have said that AT LEAST once this week. If not, then this assignment is definitely for you. Everything we’ve focused on so far this week comes down to this: You can’t START if you don’t know where to STOP! You have to know what you’re working towards to begin movement. Generalized ideas are…ehh…okay…but REAL momentum happens when you have dotted your I’s and crossed your T’s!

That is what you’ll do today.

This weekend’s writing assignment is to write down EVERYTHING…yes, EVERYTHING…that you feel you need, want, and desire in life. Write it all down. Then, one by one begin the process of elimination until you reach the essential elements of your needs, wants, and desires.

Wait? Why am I having you eliminate things?

It’s because there needs to be balance with your goals. You don’t want too many things weighing on you because it will add pressure. Some pressure is good, but think about it this way. Your body is your spirit’s vehicle. The more weight (goals, dreams, needs, wants, desires, etc.) you in your vehicle (i.e. the mind) the slower you move. If you put too much weight, it won’t move at all. You’ll lose your motivation to even go after those things because there’s too many to choose from. It makes getting started easier, and you can always add new goals as you successfully accomplish others.

Plus, some things can occur when you have other goals met already. For example, let’s say you want a 2011 Lexus RX 460h (I’m cheezing right now for good reason!). Let’s say you also want to maintain a base financial status of $500,000 a year. Well, if you have your finances in order, then you can easily obtain the Lexus. Get it?

The purpose of having clarity is to set the foundation of the things you want. If you want the car (…or house…or designer clothes), then focus on your finances. If you want the five carat wedding ring, then focus on finding a quality husband. If you want the fans, then focus on your craft. If you want to help others, then focus on what you can do for them. Develop the foundation for what you want, and the rest will follow.

The minute (meaning “size”, not “time”) desires can be obtained once you start reaching your goals. That’s what we’re truly focusing on at this point. Setting the foundation. You can have all the strong desires in the world, but if your foundation is weak then they can’t be supported.

For the rest of the weekend, take a moment to think about everything you need, want, and desire. Then narrow it down to the foundation of these things. Once you know what that foundation is, that is when your A HA! moment will arrive.

Next week, we will take these four focuses (knowing your purpose, having unconditional self love, clarity, your gifts, talents, and abilities, and writing’s role) and put them together to create a “map” of sorts that will take you from point A (where you are now) to point B (where you need, want, and desire to be). Also, I will post a month end video going over the weekly lessons, explaining more about The Motivational Rockstarr’s purpose, and what I am here to do for you.

Weekend Write-Up: Assignment 3

This weekend…well, what’s left of it…I’d like for you to focus on the many ways you can learn to love yourself and others unconditionally. Write down at least 30 ways you can show yourself unconditional love. Then write down 30 more ways you can show others unconditional love. It’s that simple. Nothing heavy or complicated. Simply expand on your ways to show love to your self and to others.

That’s all I’m asking!

Focus Friday/Weekend Write-Up: Assignment 2

This week, we have been exploring the purpose of your life. A subject as intense as this deserves some intense exploration. Today, I want you to focus on your purpose and how you can utilize it in your current life. I also want you to come up with ways that you can begin to fulfill your purpose…right now…today…in this moment.

For the weekend assignment, I want you to write at least 25 ways you can use your purpose within your personal and professional life. If you don’t know your purpose, write out ALL of the things that you are good at; things that simply come natural to you. Then I want you to explore each natural gift and begin to find your path to your purpose.

While it may not be revealed to you immediately, it is the first step to finding your “why” in life. If you already know your why, then begin to work towards the “how”. Once those two aspects are figured out, everything else will naturally fall into place.

Weekend Write-Up: Assignment 1

Yesterday, I asked you to think of the many ways writing could propel your career. Today, I want you to go a step further. This blog post will be short, sweet, and to the point! Partly because the assignment within itself will take a while, and partly because it’s already almost midnight!

Here’s what I would like for you to do. To get your ideas flowing, I want you to write down 100 ways you can use writing to fulfill your mission and walk within your purpose. Take the answers to the questions from yesterday and start brainstorming. This is a crucial step in laying out the foundation for your success.

I know your palms are probably sweating and your heart is racing right about now. I’ll even admit that 100 ideas is kind of pushing it, but how do you expect to get ahead of the pack if you don’t push yourself harder than the average? Besides, you don’t have to do this alone. Ask someone you know and trust to help you. Brainstorm with others. This is also a good time to find an accountability partner if you don’t already have one. An accountability partner is a person that helps you to achieve your goals and stay on the right path. In turn, you do the same for them. I have three AP’s at the moment, and a mastermind alliance. They have all done wonders for me in advancing my career. Think of the milestones you could reach with the right AP!

There isn’t a time limit on this assignment. In fact, there isn’t one on any of my assignments! One thing that I have learned during my journey of self advancement is that everyone works at their own pace. What I can do in a week the next person may be able to do in three days, while the next person after than may need three months. This isn’t a contest. There isn’t any pressure from myself or anyone else. You control the pace, and when you reach the finish line you get to reap the results! There will be times when you will question if it’s all worth it. That’s when you’ll look back and see me all up in your face with a big, cheesy smile screaming “YES! NOW GO GET ‘EM TIGER/TIGRESS!”

Okay, back to the list. What are some ways you can utilize writing to advance your business, your career, or even your life? What are you shooting for and how can writing get you there?
